Alistair Carmichael meets with Rosshall Pupils

Rosshall pupils met and entertained The Right Honourable Alistair  Carmichael the Secretary of State for Scotland this morning. He was meeting with some with some of our S2 pupils at the launch of the Plan Bee project. Mr Carmichael presented the pupils with their new bee hive and sampled some of the types of honey we will shortly “Bee” producing. Megan Chireka helped the Secretary of State to Paint one of the hive that will be used across the city.

Mr Carmichael told our pupils about how important these types of projects were and asked them about how they thought it would improve our school.  At first they were slightly taken aback by all the press attention and cameras but they soon got used to it and some even started to enjoy the limelight.

The next step for our pupils will be to design a livery for our bee hive.  Once our pupils have chosen a theme for our bee hive there will be a competition to design and decorate it. Rosshall is committed to improving our environment and helping our youngsters understand how easy it is for them to be a positive force in their community.

Warren Bader CEO of Plan Bee will visit Rosshall soon and has promised to bring along an observation hive that will allow our pupils to see inside a working hive in complete safety.
