Jihad Jane charged with terror offences

A Philadelphia woman has been charged with terror offences including recruiting terrorists online and attempting to kill a Swedish artist.

Colleen LaRose, called Jihad Jane online, agreed to murder the Swedish artist on orders from unnamed terrorists she met online and travelled to Europe to do so.

A spokesman for the US Department of Justice would not confirm if the plot was related to an artist Lars Vilks, who angered Muslims by drawing the Prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog.

The controversial drawing was printed in Swedish newspapers yesterday but its unknown if the artist Vilks is dead as documents cannot confirm his death but Jihad Jane has not been charged with murder.
