The aim of the Pastoral Care Department is to provide pastoral support to pupils of Rosshall Academy, which will enable every pupil to achieve maximum potential in terms of his/her educational, social and vocational needs.

We also aim "to ensure that each pupil knows and is known personally and in some depth by at least one member of staff".

The Pastoral Care Team works in close partnership with a number of groups of people to ensure that the maximum level of care and support is provided.  These include:-

  • pupils;
  • parents;
  • other members of the Pupil Support Team;
  • The Senior Management Team;
  • all teaching and support staff in Rosshall
  • all relevant outside agencies.

The Pastoral Care team will provide the best possible support for our pupils through

  • effective communication at all levels
  • effective monitoring of all aspects of their school life and through record-keeping
  • providing a valuable and relevant Personal and Social Education Programme which meets their needs from S1-6 and helps develop their skills for life
  • encouraging pupils to participate fully in every aspect of the life of the school
  • accessing extra support for pupils when necessary.
